I. Production of raw coal, crude oil and natural gas and related information

In May, the output of raw coal was 390 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.2%, 0.3 percentage points slower than in April, and the average daily output was 12.43 million tons. The import of coal was 39.58 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 92.6%, 19.9 percentage points faster than in April.

From January to May, the production of raw coal was 1.91 billion tons, a year-on-year increase of 4.8%, and the import of coal was 180 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 89.6%.

In May, crude oil production accelerated and imports turned from decline to increase. In May, crude oil production was 18.07 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 2.7%, 1.3 percentage points faster than in April, and the average daily output was 583,000 tons. Imported crude oil was 51.44 million tons, an increase of 12.3%, while it fell by 1.4% in April.

In May, natural gas production was 19 billion cubic meters, up 7.2% year-on-year, 0.2 percentage points faster than in April, with an average daily output of 610 million cubic meters. Natural gas imports were 10.64 million tons, up 17.3% year-on-year, 5.9 percentage points faster than in April.

From January to May, 97.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas were produced, a year-on-year increase of 5.3%, and 46.29 million tons of natural gas were imported, a year-on-year increase of 3.3%.

2. Electricity Production

The growth rate of electricity production fell slightly. In May, the power generation was 68.86 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 5.6%, and the growth rate fell by 0.5 percentage points from April. The average daily power generation was 22.21 billion kWh. From January to May, the power generation was 3421.6 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 3.9%.
